AND Technology Research is to launch its innovative c2 IoT development platform, to the smart energy community next month at European Utility Week in Paris.
With over 40 years’ experience in delivering disruptive products to market, AND have created the c2 platform, built with scalability and business success at the heart of it. The c2 platform provides both scalable and robust communications, plug ‘n’ play sensors, and brains for both edge and cloud computing. The ready-to-use but easily configurable system, makes it possible for businesses to develop and manufacture IoT systems, which deliver quickly on unique IoT use cases and successfully get digital products to market.
Develop robust IoT systems
Based upon modular blocks, the c2 platform allows robust systems to be developed speedily, reducing the large amounts of time usually spent on creating prototypes from scratch or getting to grips with new technologies. Built with simplicity in mind, the c2 platform can easily be configured to get the “standardised” functionality up and running, leaving engineers to focus on the unique selling proposition of the application. As a result, resources spent on specialists to develop seemingly run-of-the-mill features can be reduced and effort can be focussed on creating a commercially viable product instead.
With the new C2 platform, the system is not restricted to any one specific communication protocols or sensors. Either choose from the c2 catalogue or from any external provider, the technology that best suits the business case and application. Once the platform is configured, c2 enables complete flexibility. It is quick and easy to integrate c2 code into existing code structures or port across platforms without having to change or throw away existing software. Front end developers and data analysts can easily extract the data to create meaningful user-interfaces and analytics.
c2 launch at European Utility Week
At European Utility Week this November, AND will launch the innovative c2 platform and its availability of a new ultra-small PLC module. Made in partnership with Renesas Electronics Europe, the PLC module sees the expansion of the c2 platform to cater for applications that require a wired communications solution. Boasting a small form-factor, the ANDtr PLC module is easily switchable between protocols including G3-PLC and PRIME. This means businesses can integrate the module into existing PLC networks, suiting a wide-range of applications such as smart meter proof-of-concepts, building management systems and smart street lighting.
As one of their platinum partners, AND will be exhibiting alongside Renesas Electronics Europe to demonstrate the capabilities of the c2 platform. They will also be showcasing an IoT based energy management system AEMS, which is designed to help businesses in the management of their energy data. AEMS has been developed in partnership with the UK government department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as part of the Non-Domestic Smart Energy Management Innovation Competition (NDSEMIC). The main aim of the competition is to create innovative and disruptive energy management services for the non-domestic sector using energy data. The demonstration will show the flexibility of the c2 platform, the plug ‘n’ play sensors, and its ability to be easily configured depending on the communications protocol required. Utilising the powerful c2 gateway, the demo will show how simple it is to configure between a wired and wireless communication protocol, in this instance PLC, USB, and Bluetooth.
European Utility Week takes place on the 12-14 November in Paris at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. If you are attending, come along and say hello, we will be with Renesas Electronics Europe at their stand G150.
