Details
The ConnectZED ZigBee module is the first product to be launched from the new Connect series range from AND Technology Research.
From the experience gained in developing ZigBee solutions for customers, AND have produced a range of inexpensive, single-chip ZigBee modules - ConnectZED.
Working wirelessly, the RF module allows for small amounts of data (< 250 kbit/s) to be transferred at low power across a good range (~200 meters). The ConnectZED module works efficiently by using little power - therefore ensuring a longer battery life.
The module has two antenna options, so where say the size of your product or look of it may be important factors in your design, the module's onboard PCB antenna can be used. Equally if ultimate range is critical & the product is hidden away then the external antenna connection can be utilised.
Designed for plug-&-play deployment into new or existing electronic designs the ConnectZED modules fit onto a host board & can be powered from that board.
The ConnectZED ZigBee module features a versatile Renesas M16C MCU core, onboard SPI flash memory together with a highly optimised RF PCB antenna front end design, with a U.FL connector for external antenna connection.
The interoperability of the ConnectZED module means it can work seamlessly & comply with other ZigBee products, designs or similar modules. It provides a perfect platform for customers aspiring to achieve connectivity of products which support energy conservation & lower carbon emissions initiatives.
The M16C device is pre-loaded with the ZigBee PRO stack from Renesas & Smart Energy (SE) ZigBee Application profile (Home Automation (HA) & dual profile SE+HA variants are also available on request).
