Install the Micropak (870C SE-49) update below to remedy these
issues:
1. Micropak was having problems with high COM port numbers,
typically around COM10 and above. The problem would manifest
itself when attempting to program the starter kit boards.
The standard 4 COM ports COM1 – COM4, along with any
USB emulating COM ports would be correctly displayed in the
Program dialog box. However, when an actual programming operation
was performed, Micropak would not be able to connect to the
higher number COM ports. This problem should now be fixed.
2. In the Program dialog box, if one or more sections were
excluded from download, and the Include ROM Monitor option
was not selected, then programming would fail. This has now
been corrected.
3. It is now possible to specify the baud rate at which Micropak
communicates with the ROM Monitor. This has resulted in the
Program Options dialog box being revised slightly and gaining
the Application Baud Rate and FC Clock Frequency options.
The existing Baud Rate option has also been renamed to Program
Baud Rate and gained an extra 57600 baud option. Note that
this option cannot be used with the starter kit boards, but
is for use with other development boards that sport a microcontroller
using an fc clock amenable to 57600 baud.
